polyurea
Polyurea GME (pure polyurea) is a two-component sprayed coating system used for insulation purposes and anticorrosive protection of various surfaces. The application is based on reaction of isocyanates with a mixture of amines. As a result of the reaction elastomer polyurea is formed. Isocyanates strongly react with amines, reaction time is only few seconds. Usually not more than 10 seconds.
Spraying of polyurea is done using a special high pressure pump with pre-heating of the A and B components including the delivery hoses to the spray gun to the temperature of approx. 80 °C.
Examples of use:
- insulation of roofs, foundation slabs, swimming pools, waste collection pits and etc.
- anti.corrosive coating of steel and concrete surfaces
- finishing of floors
Advantages of polyurea coating:
- very quick reaction time and hardening and therefore minimal operational disturbing or shutdowns
- excellent adhesion to clean surfaces like: concrete, wood, asphalt, steel
- excellent mechanical properties, elongation to ripping up to 300 %
- polyurea systems may be applied also to vertical or inclining surfaces, no running down occurs,
- higher humidity or temperature do not influence the application, polyurea systems do not foam in contact with water or moisture
- application of 1 layer (approx. 1mm thickness) is enough to provide all the benefits of the coating
- thermal resistance up to 175 °C,
- possibility to color,
- possibility to use fillers during the application (e.g. sand in order to obtain anti slip surface)
- UV stable, does not chalk on sunlight
- friendly to the environment, hardened system does not have hazardous properties
